Kia’s sales ramp up production Overview

The Koreans at Kia are doing pretty much brilliantly on every front and as we all know, being this good takes some effort.
2011 Kia Sorento
As it happens for Kia, the sales of the 2011 Sorento are going so well the company will soon be introducing a third shift to their West Point, Georgia plant.

While Kia is doing pretty well in January, the biggest hit the Kia Sorento stocks too was registered in 2010.
2010 was a big year for the Koreans as they managed to increase global sales by 19% and at the same time market share went up by .2%.
2011 Kia Sorento
In actual figures, Kia sold 109.000 units and that’s good news for the people in Georgia that are looking for a job at the moment.
As a definite sign of the American market coming back from the evil grasp of the recession Kia’s stateside based dealers keep asking for more and more Sorento SUVs.
Apparently this has been happening for a few months now so one could easily assume that Kia’s stocks on such cars are seriosly low right now.
Kia also said that beside these pretty solid reasons for adding a third shift is also related to their future plans for the Sorento.

Americans are going to get a new version of the Kia Sorento within a couple of months.

Latest Kia Venga Overview

http://photos.autoexpress.co.uk/images/front_picture_library_UK/dir_846/car_photo_423091_7.jpg
The Kia Venga has made a big impact on the mini MPV sector, delivering plenty of space, great value and eye-catching looks. With its seven year warranty, the Venga also proves that you don't really need to invest in a big car to get big practicality. The only fly in the ointment is the firm suspension, which cause the cabin to jiggle around on rough roads.
Unlike its boxy rivals, the rakish Kia Venga takes its design cues from regular superminis. Extra visual appeal is added by the large sweptback headlamps and bold chrome grille. Entry-level versions make do with plain steel wheels with plastic trims, while all other models get alloy rims. Go for the range-topping ‘3’ and you’ll also benefit from a panoramic glass roof.
As with the exterior, the Kia Venga’s cabin is attractively styled and robustly constructed. Better still, the dashboard is logically laid out and the switchgear operates with precision. There’s also plenty of seat and wheel adjustment , making it easy to find a comfortable driving position. Air-conditioning and electric windows feature on all versions, while ‘2’ trim and above gets a leather steering wheel and an iPod connection cable.
Buyers get the choice of three engines –89bhp 1.4-litre and 123bhp 1.6-litre petrol units, plus an 89bhp 1.4-litre diesel. For most owners the oil-burner is the best bet, as it delivers decent mid-range urge, is reasonably fuel-efficient and features a six-speed gearbox for greater long distance refinement. Direct steering and strong grip combine to make the Venga surprisingly agile on twisting back roads. However, there’s very little feedback and the firm suspension set-up cause the Kia to crash into potholes and fidget on the motorway.
The Venga represents strong value for money, undercutting less well-equipped mainstream rivals on price. However, poor predicted residuals undermine the Kia’s otherwise strong financial case. When it comes to running costs the diesel versions make the most sense. Fitted with the firm’s Intelligent Stop and Go start/stop kit the 1.4-litre CRDi is capable of returning 62.8mpg, while its CO2 emissions are only 117g/km..
You expect a mini MPV to extremely practical – and the Kia Venga doesn’t disappoint. You’ll notice the generous amount of space first, which easily rivals cars from the class above. You get bags of headroom, while a sliding rear bench lets owners choose between extra legroom or increased carrying capacity. Even with the seats pushed fully back there’s a generous 440-litres of boot space. The load area also includes useful under floor stowage, a load securing net and hooks for shopping bags.

Kia Picanto Review

http://photos.autoexpress.co.uk/images/front_picture_library_UK/dir_846/car_photo_423118_7.jpg
With an all-new Picanto on the horizon time is running out for the existing car. However, it’s still desirable city runaround for buyers on a tight budget. Generous equipment levels, and compact dimensions make it an impressive performer around town, but the ride is very firm, and the car is not as stylish as rivals like the Fiat 500.
The Kia Picanto is getting on for seven years old now – and it’s starting to show its age. A facelift in 2007 added a softer nose and round headlamps, but the rest of the exterior could trace its roots back to 2004. Overall it lacks the cheeky appeal of European rivals, such as the Fiat Panda and Peugeot 107. On the plus side, a five-door layout promises decent versatility for a city car. Range-topping Graphite models get extra showroom appeal in the form of alloy wheels and a tailgate spoiler.

While the Picanto’s exterior has remained largely unchanged since its debut, the cabin has benefited from a major overhaul. The dashboard and instruments take their cues from the firm’s C’eed family hatchback, meaning a grown-up look and feel. A comfortable driving position further boosts the Kia’s appeal. Entry-level models are a little spartan when it comes to kit, although electric windows are standard. It’s worth forking out extra for ‘2’ trim, because it adds must have items such as a rev-counter, air-con and iPod connection.

You don’t expect scorching straightline pace with a city car, but the Kia is slower than most. Entry-level models get a 61bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine that takes a leisurely 16.4 seconds to sprint from 0 to 60mph – although it feels nippy around town. Pricier versions get the 64bhp 1.1-litre unit that boasts stronger mid-range torque. On the road the Picanto feels remarkably composed, thanks to its light controls, excellent visibility and decent grip. Only an uncomfortable low speed ride spoils the otherwise accomplished display.

2012 Kia Rio Hatchback first Images Released

http://dailycar.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/01-2012-kia-rio630opt.jpg
Kia has released the first images of its 2012 Rio hatchback ahead of its official Geneva Motor Show debut, and might we say, it’s quite a looker. The Korean automaker has been doing some fantastic things with styling in the past few years – thanks in part to strong leadership from design director Peter Schreyer – and now the smaller Rio gets a healthy dose of modernity. It looks fantastic in these photos and we’re eager to see the new angles and curves live in the metal.
The Rio will be offered with a range of gasoline and diesel powertrains in other markets, including a 1.1-liter diesel that only generates 85 g/km of CO2. We’re most curious about the new 1.2-liter turbocharged direct-injected engine – we’ve heard about this three-cylinder powerplant before – and if it proves to be well-received in Europe, Kia will likely offer it here in the United States after the Rio’s initial launch.
Look for the Rio to go on sale in the UK starting in September, with a three-door variant expected to launch in early 2012. We don’t have any official word as to when we’ll see the facelifted Rio here in the United States, but we’d guess that it’ll arrive roughly around the same time as the Euro-spec version. Hit the jump for Kia’s official release.

2012 Kia Forte Overview

Kia Forte Koup is a relatively new player on affordable small cars on the market, but it is the one that came with large sums of money and excitement. Korean automaker has made a bet to get cute and appoint a Koup coupe, but it seems to have borne fruit, and the car is really good performance of the contract. There are great expectations for the 2012 model of the Kia Forte Koup and by all accounts to date, the Kia does not intend to disappoint.
When the Kia Forte Koup debuted in 2009, guests have been very excited about this car, spacious, affordable and versatile small, leading a healthy alternative Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic. Kia Koup voltage activated in 2010, adding even more features and keep the price lower than that of any other vehicle in its class. For the year 2012, the buzz is that the Kia is also planning option for the turbo engine now Koup, which would be much more desirable and a nasty competitor such as Honda and Volkswagen.
Do not simply cut its zing to intercept (Koup), Kia has also hinted that they will have a hybrid version will be published in 2012, making competitors already in vehicle fuel dust in this category, and Maybe put it in range-dependent suppression Laurel Toyota Prius, which is likely to keep its car prices much less than the $ 24,000 hybrid leader.
Turbo features promised in the 2012 Kia Forte Koup to step his game in what is already a vehicle just gusto. Previously managed by either a 2.0L or 2.4L inline 4 liters, Forte Koup grows to 156 and 173 hp. A turbocharged version is likely that the top scorer if 200hp Kia manages to keep the engine and vehicle as easy as they are now.
Kia has done well in the U.S. market compared to other small cars, managed to increase its market share in a down economy. Competition includes Mazada3 that is fun to ride with the Volkswagen Rabbit, but neither of which do not offer the same fuel efficiency Forte. The promise of a hybrid version of the Koup in 2012 to further the gap between fuel efficiency and the turbocharged version will contribute more to this car Volkswagen GTI or Honda Civic for power and performance are concerned. Add Kia standard 5-year/60, 000 mile limited warranty, which is almost on top of the industry and you have a vehicle worthy of serious consideration.
