Toyota Motors Planning Expands Production Capacity In Russia

The auto major Toyota motors is planning to expand their production capacity in Russia by means of a joint venture with Russia’s Sollers in Vladivostok in the Russian Far East and Japan’s Mitsui Corp.
The joint venture that the company is planning to start at Sollers’ Vladivostok plant will solely focused on Toyota’s Land Cruiser Prado model only initially, and considering the temperatures and terrain of that region, we think it’s a pretty smart move, and definitely will benefit the company and the customers.
The joint venture in its early stages will see investment of millions of dollars for modernization of the Sollers plant.

Most of the cars manufactured there will be intended for Russian market, and the company doesn’t have plans to manufacture more than 30,000 Toyota Prado per year. The vehicle will be delivered through Trans-Siberian Railway to the European Russia.
We don’t have any information about the share of each of the company in the joint venture.
As per Japan’s Nikkei business paper, Toyota sees the Far East Russia as a hopeful region for future expansions in the country, especially considering the fact that several government incentives and programs which are scheduled to be implemented there.
We, already knows that Toyota already has production facility near St. Petersburg. The Russian plant of Toyota assembles the Camry sedans, and has a production capacity of 20,000 cars per year.

Toyota brings the FT-86 and Scion situation back

We’ve heard this before, and in trying to shift attention away from recall problems Toyota once again flashes the FT-86 in front of our eyes.
Toyota FT-86 Concept
And, also unsurprising, Toyota wants to hit two birds with one stone by getting to actually keep Scion as a youth oriented brand.

This time however, we’re told about an eventual production ready version of the small performance Toyota 2+2 vehicle.
The latest news comes in that Toyota will call this the Scion FT-S.
Toyota FT-86 Concept
Toyota FT-86 Concept
Even though it’s called a Scion just as before, like the last name, the engine seems to have changed.
In the latest news from the Japanese it seems the powerplant grew up to a 2.5 liter version, but no more details are available now.
Another juicy snippet of information in regards to the Toyota FT-86 and it’s in just how the new engine will deliver its power.
The eventual Scion FT-S would be rear wheel drive only. All the rumors of a possibly Toyota all wheel drive version have been killed off for a simple reason.
The Subaru part of the coupe’s development will come along later on and deliver just that sort of setup.
Toyota FT-86 Concept
Now, when this actually happens, if you were to go for a Toyota Coupe with four wheel drive or a Subaru one?
I guess the answer clears up the situation so for a moment Toyota’s-Scion situation on the Toyobaru coupe.

These chairs cut passenger capacity of 8-7. And this package is enough to put the consumer back remains to be seen, but working in favor of the Sequoia, it gives good results and reliability scored 10/10 last year, JD Power and Associates.
There are several reasons for this vehicle is a popular choice for car buyers. Towing capacity is at the top of the list, and its relative accessibility is an important element, too. Many buyers see this as a useful vehicle and takes into account the high resale value of Toyota in general.

The year was 1951 and Toyota was hard at work creating a new all-terrain vehicle for military use. After much development, the Toyota BJ was the result of the Japanese automaker’s hard work, and the go-anywhere SUV quickly established itself as a capable workhorse. In fact, it was the first vehicle to be driven to Mt. Fuji’s sixth hill station, a climb rising 2,500 meters. After that feat, the Toyota BJ was applied to police fleets around the country. Sixty years and a name change later, the Toyota Land Cruiser is still running strong around the world.

The Land Cruiser name was applied to the BJ in 1954 and five million of these tough trucks have now been sold around the world. Evolving from the beloved FJ through the 20 Series and on to the 200 Series, the Land Cruiser has gained a level of luxury far removed from its distant BJ ancestor. However, it remains a capable off-road vehicle suited for tackling whatever this planet can throw at it.
