The 2011 Acura TSX

So far, the Los Angeles Motor Show has been creeping up on us with a raft of concepts, striking ideas and new technology.
2011 Acura TSX in Los Angeles
That doesn’t mean that the sort of car you actually buy won’t be seen in Los Angeles. Perhaps one of the prime examples of this would be in the launch of the refreshed 2011 Acura TSX.

Also known as the Honda Accord, the Acura TSX is probably one of the most mid ranged of the mid range of family saloons and estates.
Now Honda has already announced a new electric concept of sorts for LA, what could they possibly have in store for the 2011 Acura TSX?
I’m thinking not much. This is because the latest iteration of the Acura TSX came out just two years ago so don’t expect more than a facelift. Even if it’s just a facelift don’t expect many changes as they probably won’t happen.
Perhaps it’s not just a facelift. It could actually be a reminder of The Acura TSX Sport Wagon the Japanese revealed back in April at the New York Motor Show.
Basically we’ll just have to wait and see what part of the Acura TSX goes 2011 over in L.A.

2012 Acura TL is the face of change a little bit

http://dailycar.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/01-tl-630.jpg
Acura has yanked the sheets off of the latest take on its bread-and-butter TL at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show. In the face of much criticism, the Japanese automaker’s stylists have set about taking some of the edge off of the sedan’s styling with a fresh front fascia that goes some way toward making the vehicle look more like a car and less like Picaso’s interpretation of one. The 2012 TL now wears shorter overhangs both front and rear, and the new look includes shedding the chrome trim from around the rear taillamps for a look that’s altogether more appetizing than the previous iteration.

http://dailycar.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/07-tl.jpg
A few changes have cropped up under the hood as well. Acura engineers managed to cut engine friction to increase fuel economy, and a new six-speed automatic transmission helps bump the final figures to 20 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. That’s an increase of three mpg highway over the five-speed automatic-equipped 2010 model. Fans of the third pedal need not fret, though. Acura says that buyers will still be able to snag their 2012 TL SH-AWD with the same six-speed manual setup that’s currently available.
Inside, TL Advance trim now comes with a blind-spot awareness system and ventilated heated and cooled seats, while the TL Tech boasts a 60-gig hard-drive based navigation and entertainment system.

2012 Acura TL softens skin, in Chicago

http://dailycar.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/03-2012-acura-tl.jpg
Let’s be honest – the Acura TL isn’t exactly a pretty car. And while the vast majority of the automotive media and enthusiast forums immediately lashed out at the TL’s angular design, we were nothing short of pleased with its luxurious, high-tech interior and solid driving dynamics – especially the six-speed manual-equipped SH-AWD. For the 2012 model year, Acura has softened some of the car’s harsh lines, and while the automaker tells us that both the front and rear fascias are “all-new,” there’s no mistaking this sedan for anything but a TL.

http://dailycar.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/02-2012-acura-tl.jpg

Because this is merely a modest mid-cycle refresh, the TL’s powertrain hasn’t been completely overhauled. Both the 3.5- and 3.7-liter V6s are still on hand, though a new six-speed automatic transmission helps improve performance and fuel economy. A new set of 19-inch all-season tires are available on SH-AWD models in an effort to improve performance on snow and ice, fitted to an updated set of alloy wheels.
Inside, Acura has made substantial improvements to reduce wind and road noise, and the HDD navigation system has been upgraded to 60 gigabytes for improved music storage. What’s more, a new Advance Package nets customers things like a blind spot information system and cooled front seats. Look for the 2012 TL to hit dealerships later this year. Follow the jump for the official press release.

2012 Acura TL Luxury Sedan

2012 Acura TL Luxury Sedan making its debut at the 2011 Chicago Auto show. The transmission teams with a new multi-clutch torque converter that not only reduces heat build-up during operation, but also allows for lock-up activation during a much wider range of driving conditions — which helps generate improved fuel economy. As a result, city/highway fuel economy is now 20/29 mpg — an increase of 3 mpg in highway driving over the 2011 TL. To further improve operating efficiency, the Acura TL’s standard 3.5L V-6 engine receives a host of friction-reduction technologies while a revised air inlet system provides cooler air for both the 3.5L and 3.7L engines.

For 2012, two distinct versions of Acura’s performance luxury sedan remain: a 280 horsepower, front-wheel-drive TL along with a powerful 305 hp Acura TL paired with Acura’s exclusive Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD™). The performance-minded 6MT model will continue to be offered in the 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD lineup, Both the TL and TL SH-AWD™ models offer an available Technology Package which includes the Acura Navigation System with Voice Recognition™, AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic with Traffic Rerouting™ and AcuraLink Real-Time Weather™, and an Acura/ELS Surround® 410-watt Premium Audio System.

Finally, when equipped with the available Advance Package, the Acura TL comes with 18×8-inch 5-spoke wheels while TL SH-AWD™ is fitted with 19×8-inch split five-spoke aluminum wheels with new performance minded P245/40R19 all-season tires.

2011 Acura RDX Review and Pictures Gallery

When a minor facelift in 2010, the Acura RDX is due to the planning of the reform in 2011. Drivers can expect major changes in design RDX, both inside and outside. Although Acura has not confirmed anything official yet, it is also possible that the automaker plans to add hybrid assembly of RDX in 2011. Closer to the model year 2012, and the RDX turbo diesel can also be the debut. The release of the new RDX is set for late fall 2010. Read our review of the first car 2011 Acura RDX.
As the smaller compact crossover that is offered by Acura, the RDX is only for those who want a spacious interior in a nice neat package. With a starting MSRP of $ 32,500, the 2011 Acura RDX has an extraordinary amount of features for an average price of the road. FWD is still standard, but topnotch Acura Super Traction Management – SH-AWD – is also available. The 2.3-liter DOHC 16-valve engine in the 4 cylinder is designed by experts, ensuring that drivers are always much encouragement to them. When you throw in a refined interior and ample cargo space, the Acura RDX 2011 is a winner in good faith. What we know about the specifications of the Acura RDX 2011 is summarized below.
  • Pricing: the 2011 RDX should start at about $33,000 MSRP, but Acura has not released retail or invoice pricing data yet
  • Fuel economy: traditional RDX should have city/highway car ratings comparable to that of current model (19/24 mpg). No information available yet on the hybrid RDX.
  • Engine: turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder with 240 horsepower; no data on turbodiesel or hybrid engines yet
  • Drivetrain: five-speed automatic with manual shift control
  • Acceleration: all-wheel drive 2010 RDX completes 0-60 mph in 6.8 seconds; 2011 model will likely have similar numbers
  • Car safety features: brake assist, anti-lock brakes, front-seat side airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, active front head restraints, and side-curtain airbags
  • Suspension: no suspension changes planned as of this writing
  • Warranty: four-year/50,000-mile basic warranty; six-year/70,000-mile powertrain warranty
Acura has not said much about the redesigned 2011 RDX, but you can expect big changes. A hybrid version, if offered, is probably a bit different style and character of traditional gas-powered RDX. We know more when the initial images released by the 2011 Acura RDX by the end of the year.
Although the inner workings of the 2011 Acura RDX are undeniably interesting, the decor is certainly produce gasps appreciation as well. Updated and improved the quality of the skin kicks inside the RDX, while the ambient footwell lighting helps to make it roar coming 21st century with aplomb. Nifty technical features such as rear view camera system, further enhance the interior of the car. Thanks to handle the closing of the rear door for easy, but improved cupholders, and there is plenty of room for drinks. Dual layer heated front seats are just one way that the 2011 RDX is brilliant.
Several improvements have been made to the 2011 Acura RDX, and many of them are very positive impact on its operation and handling characteristics. Variable-turbo engine, i-VTEC and excellent performance. Fast, gear changes are seamless par for the course. Those who want to enjoy more control on the steering wheel paddles that allow manual transfer. Finally, the verification of the braking system to provide more robust, more responsive feel – is much more durable, too. Overall, slipping behind the wheel of 2011 Acura RDX is a real pleasure.
The star of the 2011 Acura RDX is, without doubt, the engine chip. The turbocharged DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder provides the command line i-VTEC, creating a more flexible and attractive. The five-speed automatic transmission is equipped with sequential SportShift, which is the norm, which increases the power and capabilities of RDX. Acura SH-AWD to convince not only splits torque equally between front and rear axles, but is distributed between the left and right rear wheels, too. When combined with an engine that produces 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, is easy to see why car enthusiasts give this configuration with two thumbs up.
Although we will not know until we make an official road test, Acura has not announced its intention to change significantly the 2011 RDX under the hood. The biggest development in the field of action will probably RDX hybrid engine, reducing power, but higher levels of fuel economy. RDX traditional gasoline probably 00 to 60 times, output power and transmission options similar to the model 2010. Braking and handling is likely to remain the same, and Acura has revised the brakes on the RDX in 2010.
Those who are concerned about security can be assured to know that the 2011 Acura RDX boasts of spades. One of the most important things RDX, security, is an Advanced Compatibility Engineering, or ACE body structure. More than anything, this model is to improve passenger safety in RDX. Another key advantage of the cargo spaces. When folded down, the 2011 RDX is 61 cubic meters of it. When this is combined with fuel economy, front-wheel drive models, and you have a winner.
how many important details – and so masterfully designed for the transmission and engine – there is little to complain about when it comes to 2011 Acura RDX. That said, a pair of oxen, children are still found. four-wheel drive models have a fuel lackluster – it is a trade-off that some drivers do not want to do. Although all of the refined, the RDX drives tend to be too small for most drivers. Finally, the updates of the grid company – who is now in its second year – is still divided aesthetic feature, some people love it, some people can not tolerate.

2010-Acura RL interior is beautifully designed and beautifully designed. A strip of wood or persuade real (depending on trim level) flows into a beautiful waterfall center console that incorporates considerable number of cars and electronic functions. A standard 10-speaker Bose surround sound system is so incredible that you could swear that Gladys Knight Pips crammed with a gun in the back. Unfortunately, they would find more space than Acura TL for less – has a pretty good stereo, too.
Even without the main features of the technology package as optional audio systems and air conditioning can be controlled by voice commands or buttons on the steering wheel and instrument panel or a button and a multifunction LCD screen. These redundant checks can be confusing in the description, but they left the driver to choose how to access frequently used functions. The trunk measures 13.1 cubic feet, a figure a bit smallish for this class.

Honda Accord Tourer Taxi Cab Acura in the States

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_FoXyvaPSnVk/SzDxVNRl6ZI/AAAAAAACXbY/oIciBcMHnSE/s1600/Taxi-Honda-Accord-Tourer-1.jpg
While Acura has confirmed that it will bring the European Honda Accord Tourer to the U.S. as the 2011 TSX Sport Wagon in fall 2010 (the Euro Accord and the TSX are virtually one and the same), it’s highly unlikely that you’ll ever see one in a yellowish finish with a Taxi roof sign. But if you’re planning a trip to Germany, you might very well be able to hitch a ride on a Accord Tourer Taxi – that is, if you manage to spot one among all the Mercs.
The Euro-spec model is powered by a 2.2-liter i-DTEC four-cylinder diesel that delivers an output of 150 horsepower and 350Nm or 258 lb-ft of peak torque returning a combined fuel economy of 6.6 lt/100 or 35.7mpg US in the European cycle.

Acura ZDX recalled Now for airbag issues

http://dailycar.info/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/acurazdxfd_006.jpg
It’s only been on the market since December, but the 2010 Acura ZDX has already gotten its first official recall. According to AutoWeek, Acura believes that less than two percent of the 1,850 ZDXs built so far were assembled with a dashboard material that was incorrectly cut. The problem could cause the passenger-side front airbag to deploy improperly.
If you think you may have one of the affected vehicles, you are urged to take your minty-fresh ZDX to your local Acura dealer so the vehicle can be inspected. If there is indeed an issue, the entire dashboard will be replaced at no expense to the owner.

Acura ZDX is a space (challenged) oddity REVIEW

http://dailycar.info/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/03acurazdxreview2010.jpg
But just for some context, let’s begin with the fact that despite a similar fastback, five-door body style, the ZDX is not related to the Honda Accord Crosstour. Honda’s jacked-up hatch is substantially larger than the ZDX and far more useful. Instead, it’s best to think of the ZDX as a rake-roofed version of the MDX – a high-riding four-door coupe (assuming you buy into the marketing spiel) akin to its closest competitor, the BMW X6. Both models share similar designs and purposes – although the ZDX maxes out in price and performance where the German starts off – and both possess some of the attributes of a two-door layout – compromises and all.

Acura releases Canada-only TL A-Spec Officially

http://dailycar.info/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/2010-acura-tl-a-specopt.jpg
Every once in a while, automakers will design special trim levels and packages specifically tailored for our friends to the north. The latest, from Acura, is the A-Spec package available on the 2010 TL sedan, which includes add-ons like 19-inch wheels on special summer tires, an aero kit, dark chrome grille (which somehow manages to make the shield a bit easier on the eyes), rear accents and (of course) A-Spec badges. Underneath the extra glitz is Acura’s Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive system, and a choice of either a five-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission.
We spoke with Honda’s American PR team, and while they assure us that there are no plans to bring the A-Spec to Yankee soil, prospective TL buyers in the States shouldn’t be too put off. Glancing through the TL’sU.S.-market configuration site, we see that American models can be optioned with all sorts of A-Spec-like accessories, including underbody spoilers, sport grilles and different wheels. It might not have the appropriate badging, but it’ll do the trick.
The TL A-Spec can be ordered from Canadian Acura dealers as you read this, retailing from $51,290 CAD. For the full details, hit the jump to read Acura’s press release.

Honda to kill off Acura RL/Legend globally, in Japan

http://dailycar.info/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/007-2010-acura-rl-stock.jpg
Word coming from Japan’s Nikkei business daily (as reported by Reuters) indicates that Honda has finally decided to discontinue the slow selling Acura RL and its Japanese market counterpart, the Honda Legend.
Ostensibly the flagship of Acura’s brand here in North America, the RL has been a slow-seller for quite some time, upstaged in part by the company’s less-expensive, higher-volume TL sedan. For some years now, the TL has offered more space, similar tech and even more power (in the Type S model), making the RL a particularly tough sell for dealers. Through the first half of this year, only 872 RLs have been sold in the United States.
Another production change reported by the Nikke that would only affect the Japanese market is the discontinuation of conventional gasoline versions of the Civic. If accurate, that would mean that from now until at least until the next-generation Civic arrives in the Fall of 2011, Honda will only sell the Civic hybrid in its home market.

Acura MDX Details with Images

http://dailycar.info/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/lead1acuramdxreview2010.jpg
“Any press is good press,” so the saying goes. With that in mind, the refreshed 2010 Acura MDX, now bearing the automaker’s corporate “beak,” should finally be garnering some much-needed attention.
And the Acura MDX deserves the spotlight. Nearing its tenth year of production, the seven-passenger crossover has flown under the radar, always relegated to yesterday’s news as the segment rapidly expanded and welcomed interesting new competitors. Seemingly tired of watching the competition steal the conversation, Acura threw on the controversial grille and significantly updated the MDX for 2010.
