Fiat & Chrysler team up to maded A new joint venture

I reckon Sergio Marchionne’s efforts in favor of Chrysler are about to shift proceeds over to Fiat as well.
2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The latest plan for the two companies involves a joint venture on one of Chrysler’s platforms being sent over to Turin for some work.

The new collaboration will have Chrysler provide the sort of platform that Fiat doesn’t yet have. A platform for large passenger vehicles and SUVs.
This platform will be sent to Turin, over at Fiat Group’s historic Mirafiori plant for a serious makeover. At the end of this Chrysler burger being processed with Fiat pizza we’ll have new flagship models for Jeep and Alfa Romeo.
Imagine that, an Alfa Romeo SUV… I’m slightly sad just saying this but perhaps the Italians will style it so well I’d like it.
Since this is some sort of business situation, €1 billion will change hands as the investments required for the Mirafiori plant to succeed as part of this plan.
What’s weird, for me at least, is that while this car will be developed in Europe on an American platform, the Alfa Romeo SUV and the Jeep flagships will be sold outside of the European Union.

2012 Chrysler Sebring Review

In 1995 Chrysler Sebring launched as a spacious, midsize sedan. This beautiful car ride was long known for its sleek, windswept and low-floor design that looked like a hovercraft cruising along the open roads. As the winged Chrysler logo, the Sebring has suggested that drivers could coast like a gentle breeze on winding roads.
The convertible option adds a touch of luxury without breaking the bank. Chrysler Sebring is known to have a wide body with plenty of legroom and trunk space. Because of its wider, larger, Sebring has a reputation for being a good trip. Chrysler has struggled through a series of owners who try to save the brand proud. Fiat owner of the team in place during Chapter 11 bankruptcy, many customers want to know what the future holds for their favorite models, like the Chrysler Sebring 2012. The latest rumors suggest that 2012-Chrysler Sebring gets a new look to freshen possibly removing some ribs in the hood of the latest models.
Finally, the Chrysler Sebring will be reincarnated as the Chrysler 200C, where Fiat has enough time to design a major restructuring. It would enter the European naming conventions like the numbers. Fiat still working the details. There was some confusion when Cerberus, the previous owner had announced it would end production of Sebring in 2010. Fiat seems to Sebring brand to continue at least until 2012. Fiat continues to work on details for 2012 release.
Chrysler Sebring has many attractive safety features, including the five-star frontal impact ratings crash test, airbags and antilock braking systems (ABS). Eye on the Future of the Sebring was unveiled in 2009 NAIAS, where Chrysler 200C was introduced. Chrysler’s traditional broad U-shaped grille has been accepted. Chrysler 200C lines are more rounded around the wheels.

2011 Chrysler 30 Exclusive

“We basically blew the old car up. The number of parts we carried over from the last car you can just about hold in your hands,” said Mitch Clauw, Chief Engineer on the 2011 Chrysler 300.
He was responding to repeated questions about the new sedan. Was it all-new, or just a heavy refresh like the 200 Sedan? You can’t blame journalists for being confused. Chrysler’s product onslaught is putting 16 all-new and significantly improved models on the road this year. But all-new is a very different thing from significantly improved.

Dodge Journey-based Fiat Freemont in Geneva

http://dailycar.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/fiat-freemont-opt.jpg
Chrysler has had plenty of partnerships over the years, and as odd as it may have seemed in the beginning, the tie-in with Fiat arguably makes more sense than any of those past pairings. Chrysler doesn’t have much of a presence overseas, and Fiat doesn’t in North America. Putting them together, then, could be the perfect formula for global success. The Fiat 500 is coming to North America, and while we’ve been hearing about Chrysler vehicles being sent to Europe for quite some time now, this is the first actual proof.

The vehicle you see here will be unveiled at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show as the Fiat Freemont. Look familiar? That’s because it’s essentially the Dodge Journey with a different badge on the nose. Otherwise it’s essentially the same vehicle, produced alongside the Journey at the same plant in Toluca, Mexico.
