I40 Wagon Revealed Details

Car makers seem to have made a beeline for releasing either concepts or specs of their new models before Geneva Motor Show. Another company to add to the list is Hyundai, who released the concept of i40 Wagon and some additional details. This car is developed at the Hyundai plant in Russelsheim, Germany, and is set to hit the showroom, before the sedan makes its debut.

This wagon features all the facilities the buyer would hope to see in a high-end segment car. Much of the features are similar to Hyundai’s Equus and Genesis. Some of the additional features are reclining, heated driver and rear seats, and auto de-mist facility that doesn’t let fog accumulate on the windshield.

Named as i40 Tourer, it might as well be the same Sonata Wagon that the media was awaiting for. If it, by any chance, is the same wagon, buyers would certainly not despair.

It seems that the Geneva Motor Show would not have enough to surprise the market, as many manufacturers have revealed their new concepts, and many are yet to come. However, motor show is something that would always be awaited. I is just that this one might be a little redundant.

Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Due Overview

In October, Hyundai had announced that its new 2011 Sonata Hybrid might provide tax credit of $1,300. Until then, everything with the new model seemed perfectly fine. The car was ready to hit the showroom by end of 2010. However, the carmaker identified a problem with the new hybrid model and announced that the release would be delayed by some months.

The delay was caused because there were last minute changes in the car’s virtual engine sound. Initially, the car was designed in a way that would allow drivers to  disable the function of pedestrian warning signal. However, there was a rule passed by the authorities on the top that hybrid cars should enable a feature that would produce sound when at slower speed. Hence, the manual disable option was ruled out.

Seems like a minor change, isn’t it? No, it isn’t. There are a number of modifications involved like changes in the wiring system, interface software, car manual, which certainly involves lengthy efforts. This is the reason why its first Hybrid model went on roads by January 2011.

Hyundai CEO criticizes price wars Details

At this point, it’s pretty difficult to argue with Korean car makers and their sales strategy so it’s quite important to occasionally listening to them.

The one to listen to today is called John Krafcik, a chap you may have heard of because he’s the CEO of one of the best selling car companies of the year, Hyundai.

John Krafcik stepped forward and said it quite frankly. The companies that are going around and trying to outsell each other by having price hang low in the balance aren’t thinking right.
This seems to be weird as Hyundai is definitely making cars that are generally the cheapest in their class and they’re doing well.

The most important part is pretty simple to understand actually. Yes Hyundai’s cars are cheap but they aren’t competing to outprice anybody else.
This is where the other manufacturers go wrong. They make a car and then try to compete with the pricing of others instead of going for their own.
These price wars may seem like a good idea right now, especially for the customers but Krafcik says that they are short time thinking this.

The problem with price wars is that they’re ok in the short run but can end up very damaging on the long term situation.
Since Hyundai have been making low cost cars for years without any success and recently they’ve upped their game considerably without changing prices too much I guess John Krafcik should be listened to.

Reviews 2012 Hyundai Genesis R-Spec Sedan rolls with a 5.0

The current Hyundai Genesis 4.6 sedan, with its 385 horsepower V8, is hardly a slouch. In fact, according to most road tests, the luxury four-door reportedly hits 60 mph in about 5.5 seconds. In an effort to raise the vehicle’s performance bar and snuff out those who have complained about the four-door’s lack of “sport,”Hyundai has pulled the covers of its new 2012 Genesis R-Spec sedan.
Under the hood is a new 5.0-liter V8. The engine – the most powerful Hyundai has ever fitted to a street vehicle – is rated at 429 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. Mated to a standard eight-speed automatic (with manual shift mode), the new powertrain should shave more than a few tenths off its sprint… and go some way toward adding the ‘sport’ prefix in front of ‘sedan.’
 
 

Other performance goodies backing up the new engine include unique R-Spec transmission tuning, suspension upgrades, larger brakes and recalibrated sport steering. Wheels have been bumped up to 19-inch alloys wearing 235/45R19 tires (sticky Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 Summer Tires are optional). Cosmetically, the sport sedan is differentiated by dark chrome headlight inserts, and new badging inside and out. The Genesis R-Spec sedan will be offered in Black Noir, Titanium Gray, and Platinum Metallic exterior paint, with black leather inside as standard-fit.

2012 Hyundai 5.0L V8, upgraded V6 Review

It seems like only yesterday when Hyundai shocked the auto industry with the Genesis Sedan. The hard truth, though, is that the Korean automaker’s first foray into the luxury market arrived in 2008 as a 2009 model. Hyundai doesn’t intend to rest on its laurels, and new updates for the 2012 model year are being debuted during the Chicago Auto Show this week.
No self-respeting mid-cycle refresh is complete without an all-new powertrain, and the Genesis is blessed with with a doozy. An all-new R-Spec trim level will sport an all-new direct-injected 5.0-liter V8 – a mill that’s also destined for the larger Equus. The new powerplant is Hyundai’s most powerful engine ever, producing 429 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 376 pound-feet of torque at 5,000 rpm. That’s 85.6 very impressive horsepower per liter out of a naturally aspirated engine, or more grunt per unit than the competition from Lexus andMercedes-Benz.
Impressive stuff, and Hyundai follows through with a new eight-speed automatic transmission that was developed in-house. The new tranny will help the R-Spec model achieve estimated fuel economy of 25 miles per gallon on the highway and 16 mpg around town. The R-Spec model will also feature unique 19-inch wheels, along with more aggressive suspension and steering tuning.

The Genesis Sedan will continue to offer the 4.6-liter Tau V8 and 3.8-liter V6, but changes were made to boost both power and efficiency. The 4.6-liter V8 will now reward the driver with 385 ponies thanks to tweaked induction and timing. Wha’t smore, the updated eight-cylinder mill will now hit 26 mpg on the highway, up from 25 mpg. The 3.8-liter engine has added direct injection for 2012, pumping horsepower up by a substantial 15 percent – 333 horsepower and 291 lb-ft for you number crunchers out there, up 43 ponies and 27 lb-ft from the old engine.
Hyundai rounded out changes for the 2012 model year with a few design tweaks to keep aesthetics fresh. Updates include a reworked grille and front fascia, incorporating new headlights with LED accents and dark chrome headlamp inserts. Out back, Hyundai added new taillamps, a revised fascia and integrated dual exhaust tips. Other changes include a host of interior updates and the new Genesis 3.8 Premium and Technology Packages.

2012 Hyundai Veloster Review

Replacement for its popular Hyundai Tiburon in 2012 bike station is a sport coupe, built for speed. Inspired by a concept car that began in 2007 Los Angeles Auto Show, bike station would break the mold of pairs of sport when it hits showrooms in late 2011. According to reports, the design team is staying mum on the Hyundai design bike station, and only to say that the coupe will reinvent the market for small sports cars.

Veloster packs a punch for a small body, comparable in fact these days the old Honda CRX. Experts say a car, however, that the price range is somewhere between $ 18,200 and versions uptrim as much as $ 21,500 will go.

2012 Hyundai Accent World Debut

2012 Hyundai Accent will be world debut at Montreal Auto Show in Canada. 2012 Hyundai Accent sold in two body versions, a four-door sedan and five-door hatchback, and powered by a 1.6 liter engine range GDI. Engine 2012 Hyundai Accent is a combination of both with 6-speed automatic or manual. This transmission, the manufacturer estimates that the 2012 Hyundai Accent offers a fuel consumption of about 4.7 liters per 100 km. 2012 Hyundai Accent, promises more interior space, which measures 4,370 mm long, 4-door 5-door 4115 mm, 1700 mm wide and has a wheelbase of 2570 mm.

Hyundai Veloster Teaser 2012 Released Images

Hyundai has released teaser image of 2012 Hyundai Veloster which is actually not quite cut some expected. One door is located on the driver’s side, while the two passenger doors is positioned on the opposite side. We saw the asymmetric twist of dying before placement, most recently in the Mini Clubman. The bike station is also a split rear tailgate glass.


Hyundai is silent on most bike station mechanical specifications and prices. A direct injection engine, 4-cylinder mated to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission with double clutch will probably find its way into your skin in this slinky hatchback. A fuel economy figure of 40 mpg (or more) during highway driving also goes around. We know all the details at the Detroit Auto Show media days will begin Monday, January 10. The bike station is put up for sale later this year as a 2012 model.

2011 Hyundai Curb Crossover Concept

Hyundai Veracruz 2010 Overview

2010 Hyundai Veracruz si large luxury vehicle from Hyundai with 4 door and can accomodate up to 10 passenger. Have a price range $28,145 – $35,895, Hyundai hopes to beat the class benchmarks in powertrain performance, standard safety features, and cargo volume. The Veracruz has instruments that are illuminated with a crisp blue backlighting, cupholders that are ringed with glowing blue light, and cubbies that are lined with a soft, velvety material. The base GLS gains more standard features, including a power driver’s seat, rear parking sensors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, and automatic headlights. The Veracruz’s 3.8-liter V-6 sees duty in a number of Hyundais, including the Azera full-size sedan and Entourage minivan. EPA fuel-economy estimates for the front-wheel-drive Veracruz are 17/23 mpg city/highway and all-wheel-drive models are rated at 16/22 mpg. This engine delivers 260-hp and 257 pound-feet of torque and is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel antilock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and a brake assist feature ensure you get the most out of the 2011 Hyundai Veracruz brakes and help to avoid accidents.  Active front head restraints, front, front-side, and three-row head airbags minimize injury during collisions.

Hyundai may import Elantra from Korea Review

The rakish 2011 Hyundai Elantra hit North American dealerships late last year, priced from $14,830 (*excluding $720 for destination). In December 2010, Elantra sales totaled 13,096 units, up from 5,763 in 2009, and this high demand for the new Elantra may be higher than the Korean automaker had originally anticipated.
This increased demand has prompted Hyundai to consider importing some Elantras from Korea. Currently, Hyundai produces U.S.-market Elantras at its Montgomery, AL plant. This facility’s annual production capacity, which stands at 330,000 total units, may not be enough to satisfy America’s thirst for the stylish compact.
 

If Elantra does what we think, hope it will do, it will mean we’ll have to export them from Korea. We’re pretty bullish on it, given the reviews it’s received so far and the price.
The 2011 Elantra is $1,445 cheaper than a base Chevrolet Cruze and $1,440 less than a base 2012 Ford Focus, which makes Hyundai’s model a pocketbook-friendly alternative to its main competitors in the compact class.

2011 Hyundai Sonata Detailed Review

2011 Hyundai Curb latest Review

Hyundai Curb Concept as a compact Urban Activity Vehicle (UAV), it is aimed at young city dwellers. Penned by the designers at Hyundai’s California studio, the Curb’s styling is said to have evolved from the firm’s “Fluidic Sculpture” design language seen on the latest Sonata and Elantra.

The Hyundai Curb is the seventh vehicle (hence the HCD-12 codename) to be designed at the company’s California Design Center. The Curb is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) four-cylinder engine mated to Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG). This powertrain develops 175 horsepower and 169 lb. ft. of torque. By adding Idle Stop and Go (ISG) technology, the Hyundai Curb Concept would deliver 30+ miles per gallon in the city and 40+ miles per gallon on the highway.
