2011 Juke Rear Latest Cars by Nissan

http://image.motortrend.com/f/34486274+w569+h356+ar1/2011-Nissan-Juke-Front-Three-Quarter.jpg
Nearly halfway into my one-year test, the Juke's odometer ticked passed 7500 miles. To a Juke owner like me, that meant heading to the dealer for a minor service and checkup. Nissan categorizes its recommended services under two banners based on driving severity: Maintenance Schedule 1, or checkups every 3750 miles (or three months, whichever comes first), is tailored towards those that drive their vehicles hard or in particularly dusty climates. Schedule 2, on the other hand, is for those that drive in less severe conditions and recommends dealer stops every 7500 miles (or six months).

As I'm not one to push the Juke to its extremes all the time (okay, once in a while, I've been known to), I opted for the latter schedule. In doing so, Power Nissan performed a lube, oil, and filter change, and rotated the Goodyears to even out normal wear.

I made the executive decision to upgrade to Mobil1 synthetic oil for improved viscosity and, well, because Melissa, our resident service advisor, remarked that "the Juke is a turbo, so it's better for it!" All joking aside, the 1.6-liter turbo will likely be happier with synthetic oil running through its veins. In discussing which oil to choose with associate online editor, Benson Kong, we both found it surprising that Nissan didn't fill the Juke with synthetic at the factory. Then again, Kong said, he'd wager the Juke's cooling efficiency is pretty good without it.Via

2011 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet Review

2011 Nissan Murano Crosscabriolet Rear View With Top Up
"It looks like some weird mechanical mutant," a friend mentioned.
"There's something oddly charming about the CrossCabriolet," noted senior editor Jonny Lieberman. "Nissan might just be onto something here..."
This multifaceted, range-topping Murano is an attention-getter devised to fill a void you never knew existed, and that marketers hope to successfully tap.
Wait, this thing occupies a segment with actual buyers?
Nissan believes it does. CrossCabriolet customers will likely call California, Texas, and Florida home; be predominantly female, well-educated, and 40 to 45 years old; and make roughly $125,000 annually. They'll need that money because losing a metal top adds $7220 to the Murano LE AWD's base price, making the CrossCabriolet the most expensive trim in the lineup.

Product gurus also foresee strong sales in the Northeast and Midwest, where convertible owners might cherish sunshine more than their Southern counterparts do. When inclement weather forces tops shut for months at a time, a luxurious crossover with 12.3 cubic feet of cargo room should be useful, Nissan hopes. Some 800-plus buyers want one already, and more than 5000 people have requested information. Quirkiness is becoming more attractive to a growing consumer population. Color us amazed.
Although it could come across as a left-field sort of project, the CrossCabriolet is nothing of the sort. Designers at Nissan's Atsugi center first toyed with the study in 2006. But it wasn't until Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn saw primitive sketches that it became something real. (Industry rumors persist that it was Ghosn's wife who showed a keen interest in the model's production.)

With the green light ablaze, the engineers heavily modified their existing D-platform. Ahead of the raked A-pillar resides a 3.5-liter VQ35DE V-6 making 265 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque. It's mated to an Xtronic CVT and returns an EPA rated 17 mpg city/22 mpg highway. An independent front-strut, multilink rear suspension underpins the CrossCabriolet as it does in other Muranos, which means the ride remains well-controlled. It also employs an Intuitive All-Wheel Drive system for traction in a variety of settings.Via

Nissan’s Qashqai Car Concept

The Nissan Qashqai, a car which seems to have been made simply to fit a gap in the market is just full of surprises.
Nissan Qashqai
First of all, in 2008 it became European Car of The Year and then in 2011 it managed to get past the 1.000.000 units sold milestone. Also in 2010 it surprised me because it had more space inside than the Nissan Navara but we’ll let that one slide.

Known as the Dualis in Japan and Australia the Nissan Qashqai is available for sale almost everywhere except the US and despite that, three thirds of its sales went to the European market.
Nissan Qashqai
The plants that actually stamped out all of the cars needed for Nissan to sell one million Qashqai models are located in three countries but over 800.000 units of them were made in the UK’s Sunderland factory.
The rest of the production was handled by the Kyushu factory in Japan, Dongfeng Nissan’s Huadu Plant and Zhengzhou Nissan’s No. 2 Plant in China.
Nissan Qashqai
Who would’ve known, a car with a very difficult to pronounce name is made in locations that are almost just like that.
Quarrels aside, I actually like the Nissan Qashqai and that makes me pretty common, more than one million people agree with me and even bought one.

2012 Nissan GT-R review and Gallery

Invincible. According to Webster’s, the word means “incapable of being conquered, overcome or subdued.” The adjective is often used to describe something so superior that it’s nearly impossible to overthrow. Want to know what invincibility feels like? Strap yourself into the driver’s seat of the 2012 Nissan GT-R, and then press the start button.

Just three years after successfully launching its flagship performance vehicle on our shores, the engineers atNissan have introduced a subtly but completely reworked supercar. The engine has more power, the suspension has been revised, the wheels are lighter, the seats have been redesigned, the brakes are bigger, the chassis is stiffer and the aerodynamics have been reconfigured to improve cooling and provide more downforce. This isn’t a manufacturer’s token “mid-cycle refresh” to boost sales; these are changes that improve the overall drivability and performance of the GT-R so significantly that most will be inclined to consider it nothing short of a second-generation rebirth.

2012 Nissan GT-R First Test Drive

Dylan Murray is someone, who, by his appearance, is not in the right profession. Dressed in smart casuals, spectacles, humorous, polite to an extent, and affable, he looks more like a research executive on a vacation. What is obviously does not look like is a auto maniac, and knows about Nissan cars perhaps better than anyone else in the world. He owns all the models, and knows what coming up next. If there is anyone who can introduce us to the new Nissan GT-R 2012, it has to be him.
Back in 2007, Kazutoshi Mizuno, when he first introduced the artwork of GT-R, he said the real GT-R will take at least another 3 years to launch. And that was forgotten then, immediately within the two months that followed. What we have now is more commonly known as ‘Godzilla’, as it is indeed a monster.
Before the cars are re-introduced with a fresh look, the only thing that designers think of is modifying it in a way that looks more appeasing than its predecessor. And the alterations have to be cheap. So, the eventual product that the buyers see is a car with changes that are more perceivable than anything real.
However, no such thing happened with Nissan GT-R 2012. In fact, the exterior changes are so minor that one will have to squint, and it might still not be visible. The front air intake has been made 60mm wider. But when designers are at work, they cannot settle for something so imperceptible. Hence, there are alloy wheel with 10 spokes. And there is protruding carbon-fiber diffuser at the rear.
However, changes below the hood are innumerable. Among the most remarkable changes are an addition of yet another turbo boost to its 3.6L V6, free flowing air supply, and redesigned valve timing that can accommodate increased horsepower. However, how much the power would be added to the monster is kept secret by Nissan. It only says that it would be an addition of at least 40 hp.
While driving the new GT-R, the increase in power can be quickly felt, but only to someone who has had his hands on the older GT-R. The car, whether old or new, was always swift and agile, and so it was on the day of test.
The engine is small, and the power is high. So, the obvious prediction was that the car would bring big revs, even before it reaches half the top speed. But the predictions were wrong. Dylan Murray had negated such predictions, and he was right. The car moved relentlessly from 3000 rpm to any of the six gears without any revs.
What was different was the whole driving experience, as the driver can get the feel of the real speed, which was missing in the older versions. Chassis performed exceptionally well. On the day of the test, the track was wet on some turns, and was flooding at the rest of the turns. And the car still moved swiftly through all the turns and tunnels. Mizuno was absolutely right. The car was the real GT-R. The drive engrosses the driver and imposes a desire to push more.

Nissan Esflow concept is a sporty RWD Leaf Details

http://dailycar.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/nissan-esflow-concept-render-630-1297259348.jpg
Nissan has just announced it’s bringing a new sports car concept called the Esflow to the Geneva Motor Show next month. The released images show a vehicle with classic sporty proportions, but we’re advised its potential for shrieking rubber has been tempered by the environmental credentials that electric propulsion can bring.
The Esflow uses tech developed for the mass-market Leaf EV hatchback, but uses a separate motor to turn each rear wheel and should hit 60 miles per hour from a standstill in under five seconds. The laminated lithium batteries are mounted low to help out the center of gravity and are said to be good for 150 miles (240 km) per charge. Any weight penalty of the energy storage system is offset by an rollbar-integrated aluminum chassis swathed in a composite shell.
While we doubt this particular concept will find a home in dealerships or driveways, it’s nice to see Nissan isn’t just concentrating their electric efforts on its more pedestrian platforms, and it could point the way to a sportier EV future for the brand. Hit the jump for a little video of the concept cruising the rendered road in animated action.

The 2012 Nissan GT-R is already out destroying pavement and causing saliva stains on the t-shirts of slack-jawed enthusiasts. The engine produces 530 horsepower, the launch control system propels the car forward like a runaway bullet train and the styling continues to polarize those who stare at its lines. Now Nissan has prepared a more luxurious GT-R for the people and it’s called the Egoist.

2011 Nissan GT-R Egoist Exclusive Version Car Concept

2011 Nissan GT-R Egoist Exclusive Version, specially created by ‘father’ of the Nissan GT-R, chief vehicle engineer Kazutoshi Mizuno. The Nissan GT-R Egoist has been developed from the 2011 version of the Nissan GT-R, which itself boasts a number of significant improvements to the engine, chassis and aerodynamics. Revisions to the twin turbocharged 3.8-litre V6 give more power and torque – up from 485 to 530PS and 588 to 612Nm respectively – along with lower emissions and improved fuel consumption. Enhanced aerodynamics have increased downforce by 10 per cent while chassis and damper changes have sharpened the handling and smoothed the ride.

An upgraded full leather interior created by Seton Leather in Germany. Leather trim now extends throughout the interior and includes areas such as the base of the front seats, the seat belt buckle surrounds, the A and B pillars, the centre console surround and the transmission tunnel. Leather can even be found lining the interior of the cup holders and covering the door sills. Plain and quilted finishes are used to provide visual contrasts between the sections.
Complementing the Seton leather package, a suede-like material is used to trim the headlining, sunvisors, rear parcel shelf and lower door panels. For this very special GT-R, each badge is entrusted to one man, Kubota-san of the Goshikiya workshop. It takes many days to build up the layers of paint to create the depth of colour and the unique finish on the emblem. Each one, therefore, is unique.
Similar attention to detail has gone into the creation of a bespoke sound system for the car. Made by leaders in sound development Bose, the 11-speaker system features a newly developed switching amp and a world first in its use of a carbon composite mounting for a new 9-inch woofer. The mounting base delivers high rigidity and high levels of damping with no weight penalties allowing a much clearer sound to be produced from the woofer.

Completing  the package Nissan GT-R Egoist are some features pioneered on the spectacular Spec-V version introduced in 2010. These include the special six-spoke forged RAYS alloy wheels – for Nissan GT-R Egoist they have a unique ‘Blue Sword’ finish – and a carbon composite rear spoiler.
Although less overtly sporting than the limited edition Spec-V version, Nissan GT-R Egoist remains one of the finest performing supercars of the era. The increase in power and torque cuts the 0-100 km/h time to a remarkable 3.046 seconds while top speed is 315 km/h. The combination of advanced electronics, including the ‘R Start’ mode for racing starts, and the six-speed dual clutch gearbox – operated via magnesium paddles on the steering wheel – mean that, where conditions permit, all that performance is easily within reach.

2011 Mini Car Smart Fortwo by Nissan Review

smart-car-us-body
This is the production of Nissan cars in a unique and very interesting. Mini Car Smart Fortwo was introduced in the United States in 2008 and was received with enthusiasm. But the importer Penske Automotive Group has been a tough audience pressure to produce a slightly larger model with room for 4-5 people. Meanwhile, sales of the Fortwo fallen sharply in the United States – 62 percent so far this year. And Minus announced Wednesday that the U.S. Smart (owned by Penske) that it has signed a letter of intent under which Nissan Motor Co. of Japan to provide a five-door car with a sleek design for sale Smart retailers in the United States.

Under the agreement, the model is 75 Smart dealerships in the U.S. already in the fourth quarter of 2011. Some details about the car was not in the post Wednesday, unless the model becomes a five-passenger, five-door hatchback called the segment B, which means that the size a bit like the Nissan Micra. It is also likely that the new Micra, which is technically under the new Smart model more. Micra is 378 cm long, 166 wide and 152 cm in height. The wheelbase is 245 inches.
News Smart-based Nissan is not very surprising, because the smart owner, Daimler AG, in April signed an agreement with Renault / Nissan cooperation has just small cars. Like most talked about Smart develops a larger model with Renault, which is based on a common basis for Smart Forfour and the next generation. Model Renault Twingo Smart, which is now published for the United States has followed a completely different car than built at Nissan, which is probably based on the Micra, front-wheel drive and the European model based on the concept of rear-engined two-seater Smart Fortwo.

Nissan Leaf wins 2011 Car of the Year in Europe

http://dailycar.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/03nissanleaf2011fd1.jpg
The Nissan Leaf is a technological leap in that it is a mass-produced electric vehicle with a range of up to 100 miles on a single charge. Unfortunately for Nissan, its quirky EV hit the market at the same time as the prize-hungry Chevy Volt, which has already taken home the North American Car of the Year and Motor TrendCOTY awards.
But while the Volt has taken the hardware here in the United States, the Leaf can now sport its own prestigious award: the 2011 European Car Of The Year. The 58 voters gave the Leaf the nod over more conventional offerings like the Volvo S60 and the Opel Meriva.
