GMC Acadia’s future uncertain Review

Word on the web is that the GMC Acadia is back on the chopping block. You may recall that the big crossover found itself in dire straits once before when the entire GMC brand underwent a strategic review during the General Motors bankruptcy proceedings. After that brush with death, the decisionmakers at the company decided to give the entire brand – and by association, the Acadia – a stay of execution. Now a new report suggests that the next-generation Acadia may be scrapped to reduce product overlap within the GM dealer network.
 

General Motors currently produces three Lambda-based crossovers – the Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclaveand the GMC Acadia – and the company says that it wants to keep overlap to a minimum for its Buick-GMC dealers. The next-generation Lambdas are expected in 2014 as 2015 models, but even if the Acadia gets axed, it’s likely that GM will still keep a trio of models based off of the three-row platform, only with Cadillac getting the third model instead of GMC.

GMC 2011 Sierra All Terrain HD Cars Concept Details an Gallery

The new 2011 Sierra HD supports HD Concept All field with a modified chassis production based on 4-wheel drive and diesel Duramax / Allison 1000 six-speed powertrain. The improved suspension and unique body dimensions, including increased ground clearance and a wider track and greater approach and departure angles, providing off-road capability, while levels of HD and a payload capacity towing. All HD Iridium ground is painted metal – a dark charcoal, revealing a red, anodized bending seen from certain angles.

Based on the chassis of 2011 Sierra HD trucks, the road to high definition has a fully boxed steel frame with exceptional strength and torsional stiffness. It includes the suspension of production models to the new independent front and rear suspension springs asymmetric, but with a larger 73 inches (1853 mm) Track (front and rear), which improves stability when driving off road driving. Sierra 2500HD production has front and rear track of 68.8 inches (1748 mm) and 67.3 inches (1709 mm), respectively.

GMC Sierra All Terrain HD Concept is powered by the new generation 6.6 L turbo Duramax diesel V-8 and Allison 1000 six speed automatic combination offered powertrain Sierra HD trucks in 2011. The Duramax is rated at 397 horsepower (296 kW) and 765 lb.-ft. of torque (1,037 Nm).

Is more powerful 6.6L Duramax fuel consumption – fuel savings of up to 11 percent higher than in previous versions – and to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions up to 63 percent. Powertrain efficiency is to assist the Allison 1000 transmission, which requires less engine power in a funnel-axis torque. It also includes a feature “smart” engine braking, which saves wear on the brakes downhill grades, which is available for the production of HDS Sierra.

2010 GMC Yukon Review

2010 GMC Yukon is SUV with fresh and comfortable interior. Available in 2WD or 4WD and in three trims, the GMC seats up to nine passengers and is rated to tow up to 8400 pounds when properly equipped.

Upon introduction, both trims are equipped with a standard 5.3-liter, V8, 320-horsepower, flexible fuel engine that achieves 15-mpg in the city and 21-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. Some of the standard features found on the upper trim levels can be added to the lower ones as optional equipment. Other options (depending on trim) include 20- and 22-inch wheels, a sunroof, a navigation system, a blind-spot warning system and a rear-seat entertainment system. Options for the Denali include a variety of 20- and 22-inch wheel styles, a sunroof, an additional third-row screen for the rear-seat entertainment system and a heated steering wheel.

2010 GMC Yukon safety features standard on all models include dual-stage front airbags, side curtain airbags, seat-mounted side airbags, four-wheel anti-lock brakes with dynamic rear proportioning, Stabilitrak stability control system with rollover mitigation, tire pressure monitoring system, and OnStar.
