2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible Indy 500 Pace Car

A special edition Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible Pace Car will serve as the official 2011 Indianapolis 500. Chevrolet and Indianapolis Motor Speedway officials made the announcement at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Classic Car auction where a bidder has the opportunity to buy the first  first of 50 Indianapolis 500 Festival Committee cars.
2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible pace 22nd voted the “Greatest Show Racing ®” and the Camaro the seventh. Adding to the wealth of heritage is the fact that 2011 marks the 100 anniversary of the first Indianapolis 500, and the centennial of Chevrolet.
Chevrolet will donate the auction to David Foster Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting families with children who need life-saving organ transplants.
 

The pace car and the corresponding car festival with a higher white exterior accented with orange stripes and graphics on the door. The interior is trimmed in orange peel, and the front seat headrests embossed with the logo of the Indy 500, and door panels and dashboard white. The dashboard has finished extensions outer orange strips.
Equipped with A-400 hp (298 kW) V-8 engine and six-speed automatic transmission, the current pace car race require changes in the exercise of responsibilities toward the front of the race course.
