Possibly the closest mere mortals can get to driving a Formula One car on the public road. That has been said about many extreme road cars in the past, but the Caparo T1 really lives up to the promise.
The recipe features an incredibly lightweight carbon fibre chassis and body, a maniacal 3.5-litre V8 engine and more than enough downforce to drive the car upside down in a tunnel.

That engine wouldn't be out of place on a race track. It's built by Menard to Caparo's specifications and it's mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox that you operate via carbon fibre paddles behind the tiny racing steering wheel. The headline figure is 575bhp at a screaming 10,000rpm

Despite appearances, the Caparo T1 is actually a two-seater. A passenger sits to the left and behind the driver. The cockpit itself is quite compact, though lined in attractive stitched leather. A half canopy is standard, while an 'optically perfect' full canopy is offered.
