All new 2011 Ford Mustang still delivers the bold styling, rear-drive performance and affordability that have been Mustang hallmarks for decades. This car arrives with an all-new 5.0-liter V-8 engine, developed by a passionate team of engineers who rallied around the common goal of delivering more than 400 horsepower along with best-in-class fuel economy and driving fun. Other changes include a switch to electric power steering (from hydraulic), larger brakes, revised suspension tuning, added noise insulation, additional body bracing for the GT convertible, blind-spot mirrors and Ford’s MyKey system.
The 2011 Ford Mustang is available either as a coupe or convertible. Each is available with a V6 or a V8 engine from Ford. New for 2011, a 305-hp 3.7-liter V6 and 412-hp 5.0-liter V8 replace the previous aging powerplants. A six-speed manual transmission is standard; a six-speed automatic is optional. Standard safety features include antilock four-wheel disc brakes, front-seat side airbags, side spotter mirrors and stability control are standard on all Mustangs. Also standard is Ford’s MyKey system, which allows owners to set up driving restrictions for young drivers.
