More than 121,000 vehicles have been recalled in two divided actions, which are done by Chrysler. There are certain consequences that lead to the recall of such a huge amount of vehicles.
It has been reported that total 56,611 vehicles that is 2011 Ram 1500 pickup trucks are set to head back to the dealers. And the reason behind the recall of such big number of vehicles is a bearing, found in the rear axle of the truck have immense chances to get failed. These growing concerns about the trucks have made the company to take such decision in efforts of maintaining its reputation. It is a major issue which if not checked then will create grinding noise, leading to a crash.
All these faulty vehicles were manufactured from September 2009 to December 2010. Apart from the recall of 2011 Ram 1500 Pickup trucks, the car maker is also set to recall approximately 65,180 Dodge Journey crossovers, manufactured in the year 2009. Due to faulty wiring, these Dodge Journey crossovers have been recalled.
“Wiring in the front door of the vehicle may cause fatigue” – this is what the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration has said. This situation has chances to interfere the side-impact airbag circuit, and due to this owners can face an ABS warning light right on the dash. In fact, if the car is met with an accident then the side-impact air bags might not deploy properly. This is the second major reason due to which the company has recalled the 2011 Ram within a month.
Both of these recalls are likely to start in the month of February. Chrysler will repair the problems of axles in all those Ram 1500 models and will also replace the front door wiring, which is connected in all the models of Dodge Journey without charging any money. Chrysler will fix all these faults free of charge since repairing has become necessary.
