2014 Lotus Elite Paris Motor Show Overview

New Lotus Elite model will make its debut at the Paris Motor Show. Although the name of Elite shares 80 percent of his letters to the fundamental product of Lotus, the Elise, this car is 100 percent different from the roadster stripped of what is now the company known. The elite is presented as a grand tourer, and packs a big V-8 up front. It seems less radical than the Elise and Evora, with a style suggestive of the Toyota FT-86 concept.
5.0-liter V-8 Elite is based on the turbine of the Lexus IS F, but it has been reworked and force-fed, even if it means turbocharged or supercharged is still uncertain, with the result bluster of the environment: 542 hp at 8000 rpm for standard car from 612 to 8000 in the R-Spec trim. Both come only with a seven-speed transmission with double clutch, which deposits of recent patents suggest has been developed internally. A hybrid model will be sitting on top of the series. Lotus has not released details of gas / electric system, but the layout slide sound technology 414E hybrid concept shown at the last auto show in Geneva. A flywheel “push to pass” button to give motorists a brief pulse to power, as the F1 KERS systems introduced in the 2009 season. Lotus believes that the elite will take place at 62 km / h in just 3.5 seconds, and the high-po version should reach a top speed of 196 mph.
Measuring 10 inches longer than Evora, Elite has a better chance than her sister mid-engine is made to keep the promise of a “2 +2 comfortable.” To complicate things, however, is the announcement that the Lotus Elite is available with a retractable steel roof option of power. We surprised Lotus even considering such a system as a hardtop inevitably much heavier than the weight of the fabric and the light is the keystone of Lotus car-building business. It will be awhile before we confirm packaging requirements and performance, because Lotus says the Elite will not begin production until 2014. Withdrawal date not less than the time savings of up to 115,000 pounds (U.S. prices should be the same in dollars) that will ask the Lotus version.
CEO of Lotus, has said he wants the company more than triple sales in 2015, a goal that puts us nervous small businesses in the search for the greatness of having an easy time of overextending themselves. Fortunately, with a high price, the elite can be expected that the burden alone. Lotus is also going to use the platform to support a stylish four-door Panamera sedan, which leads to rumors of his debut in Paris as well.
