2011 Volkswagen Golf Review

The 2011 Volkswagen Golf is a compact hatchback offered in either two- or four-door configurations and have price range at $17,995 – $23,885. Compared to other vehicles in its class, the VW Golf feels positively upscale. Its interior puts others to shame (including VW’s own 2011 Jetta) thanks to a sophisticated design, top-notch materials and all-around comfort. Add in optional niceties like a premium Dynaudio stereo and a navigation system and the fairly economical Golf can begin to feel like a near luxury car.
Volkswagen Golf powered by either a 170-hp 2.5-liter inline five-cylinder gas engine, or a new 140-hp 2.0-liter TDI clean-diesel engine. Buyers that go with the gas engine can choose between either a five-speed manual transmission or six-speed Tiptronic automatic; while TDI buyers select from either a six-speed manual transmission, or a six-speed DSG auto with Tiptronic. Standard safety features on all models include, anti-lock brakes, stability and traction control, tire pressure monitoring and six airbags. TDI models are extra equipped with features such as sport suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels/tires, leather steering wheel and shift knob, touch-screen 6-disc audio system with SIRIUS, fog lights and floor mats.
